Hi,

it uses the open Dynamics Engine. As far as I know it was developed and used only for SSW and the MC addon. It was already outdated, when the game was released and should have been replaced with the firefly engine. But thanks to Jowood, game was in a terrible state when released and they wanted money more badly than implementing a new engine with the addon...

cheers

This is not entirely true. The games engine has been developed and used only for SSW and as far as I know does not have a name. The Open Dynamics Engine (ODE) is an open source physics engine which is used by the game (i.e. is just part of the engine).
Firefly was a new engine for the game which was being worked on by Wings but died with the studio.
